Introduction
Welcome to the new issue of The Red Penny Papers, Winter 2011-2012. As usual, we’ve got a wild grab bag of pulpy goodness for you this quarter. We’ve got fantasy from the markets of Isfhan by Mari Ness, an adolescent goblin protagonist from R.A. Keenan, a new and eerie take on our shadows by T.J. McIntyre, Jan Stinchcomb’s tale of a sea lover — of sorts, historical fantasy and magic from Samantha Boyette, and a beautiful little nod to one of the greats in Sylvia Hiven’s short closing piece.
Carrie Cuinn’s Timurid-style cover is also our first wholly painted one, done on canvas especially for “In the Pits of Isfhan”. Hopefully we can do more of this, as we’re all about trying new things around these parts.
We hope you enjoy it, and come back for more next time!
